We use laser technology to engrave official property numbers and bar codes onto property at the agency. Next, these bar codes were scanned and entered into a database with the property description and associated data.We developed a proprietary software application to prepare required reports.This system could be fully deployed, government-wide, and demonstrate additional means of ending public corruption, as property auditors could annually scan the engraved property bar codes to confirm and account for government assets.
